Project Management Methodology
Pgh Systems Corp employs project management best practices to ensure that projects are completed according to scheduled deadlines. At the onset of a project, a meeting will be scheduled with client to discuss the project. During this meeting, we will review our methodology, come to terms on expectations, discuss contractual terms, gather requirements, assign tasks and schedule a follow-up meeting. And, yes, the client can expect to walk away with the meeting will assigned tasks if more information is required of them in order to kick the project off. The following bullet points summarize the overall process:
|
The implementation phase of the project will NOT commence until after sign-off on thespecification and project have occurred. The project schedule will bebased on realistic estimates of the work necessary to bring the application to fruition as opposed to arbitrary dates. Failure on the part of the client to provide information, materials and/or andaccess necessary for the project to proceed will cause delays. As such the client will need to be prepared to commit sufficient resources to the project to ensure that progress is not impeded.Communication will occur on a regular basis with interim reviews scheduled at key milestones. An account will be set up in the Client Zone of this web site which enables timestamped project notes to be submitted by the both the client and PSC. All written documentation of the project will be stored in that area. Plans, specs, status, schedules and sign-offs being amongst them. Any request formaterial changes in requirements should be made as early in the project as possible to minimize the additional charges for implementing said changes.
If the above methodology and/or policies frighten you, that's an indication that PSC is not the type of solutions provider that you should engage for your project. But, if you've been burned before, you'll understand why you need a vendor who takes a disciplined approach, insists on two-way communication and is explicit in spelling out roles and responsibilities; call us to discuss your project.
